Shot these over 4 years ago...So much great footage of the famed Kalavinka frame company in Japan. These are all hand finished by the owner and operator Akio Tanabe. More details in an upcoming project. Mark Gainor, and Chris were along for the ride. Thank you Vince for the introduction.
Flaunt magazine shoot - Ransom by adidas FW 10
Looking outside this plane window to 90degree weather and posting behind the scenes for the Ransom by adidas F/W shoot that was -30 and blowing is a trip. 100+degree difference in temp. When is the last time you have been in -30?Last time you high centered a Truck driving onto a frozen lake? I'll guess never? yeah...
Whats not a miss are these! So ill.
Love the brand , not this store. How unnatural and fake does the raw leather , hammers, pitch forks , coal in the display case look? This is a huge miss from one of my favorite brands.
Latest trip to Argentina - little hunting , little R&R , little work...
Been a little busy, Need to get back on the blog grind soon. Also just signed up for Twitter. shameless plug @sirmattgeorge.

CROSSING THE GULF STREAM TO THE BAHAMAS.
Ask one boater, and he’ll say crossing the Gulf Stream was such a calm trip he could do it in his sleep.
Ask another, and he’ll say it was so rough it made him swear off boating forever.
Yesterday was one of those rough days. a 6 hour trip turned into 12 and the waves and wind were relentless.
We left Ft. Laurderdale at 6am and got hit hard with a out of season North east wind. Jacking the waves and beating us down... Made it across though. First time for everything.
Shooting some teasers for the Ransom by adidas SS2010 collection. Thanks to all the support on this program world wide. Fall10 is so good I cant wait for everyone to see it.
No caption needed. Willo and Flavor Flav.
Another new pet project called GOODNIGHT. come on kiddies... Keep up now.
SAMMLUNG BOROS
Had the amazing opportunity to visit a private museum in Berlin. Third Reich architect Karl Bonatz designed the colossal building I was walking through in Hitler’s favourite style: classical with a Fascist twist. “It was supposed to be part of his grand plan for Germania,” says our guide Clement Rognant as he leads us through the room in the bunker-cum-private art collection where the electric fan in Olafur Eliasson’s installation Ventilator is swinging madly from the ceiling. This Bunker can be found in Berlin’s trendy Mitte neighbourhood, it’s a nose-thumbing to the Nazis. “It showcases art that Hitler would have found degenerate,” he says. “It is the highest form of intellectual freedom.”
Boros, a German advertising mogul, opened the bunker as a private museum in 2008 to showcase his 500-piece contemporary art collection, which includes works by Sarah Lucas and Tobias Rehberger.

March Madness - We did this tee design in 2006 for one of the stores - Dennis on the artwork, and it just resurfaced for a book we are putting together...right on time. The last 8 years I have been to the sweet 16 and last year I went to the Final four in Detroit , this year?
Mustang Powder cat shred this weekend. Trip was amazing. Had the crew and extended family in full effect. Here are a couple photos. Check the slab avalanche - It is rare to have such a big slide on a pitch that is under 40degree's pitch. This was 28' and over a meter thick.
Shoot / video shoot this weekend 3 hours north of Toronto. Neon Gorilla crew in full effect. "I dont think I have ever been up this early" and wearing fashion boots in -15 winter weather with 2 feet of snow on the ground was highlights of my day. JK. Justin...
We have been working hard on a new project in Toronto. Sign is finally up...More info soon.
Fall / Winter 2010 - See you at the shows...
BRING HOME THE GOLD FROM THE COLD!!!
Worked on some tee's for the Olympics in Vancouver.
Looking at old outdoor catalogs like this just gives you a good feeling. Time spent on design and attention to detail / craftsmanship is not what it used to be. Note to self....I need to make or be involved with more things like this.
Looking at all the New yorker covers...love this one. I don't have a TV at my house so this doesnt happen , but I'm sure in 90% of homes with a set it does.
Our friends over at Dwell Magazine featured Unitedfront's Stussy Vancouver store. "On this project anybody we spoke to from the mill workers to the lumberjacks all had very similar strong ideas on the importance of instilling sustainability in the minds and hearts of consumers at all levels. They loved the idea of showing the public what goes into furniture. Forest to final product. Should make everyone think about how precious our forests are and how they need to taken care of. This project only used local made and milled products that had to travel less than 120 kms to their final resting place. Beyond this we made sure the farming process where the trees where being cut from was healthy, non-destructive to the surrounding environment and with a company that has a positive reputation"
Fresh shots- heading to printer now...Fall 2010 Ransom by adidas catalog. You really cant beat Vancouver for shoots like this. Shout out to Ryan , Cody and co.
Ran into Jeff Staple and his crew, the women serving asked if I was wearing Sketchers. Her favorite brand. lol. Made my week.

Gandhi Time -
Mahatma Gandhi was not just some bald, skinny,Indian man with glasses who wore a sheet, he is probably one of the most profound leaders the world has ever seen. He changed an entire nation with his non violent peace approach which led to freedom and democracy of India. Today, his spirit and message live on throughout the world. If you ever have seen the movie Gandhi, then you know that he was rarely seen without his pocket watch. His pocket watch of choice was a Zenith manual wind which was made between 1910 and 1915. In less than one month. Leading auction specialist Antiquorum, will hold an auction in NYC, featuring over 400 rare and spectacular timepieces from all over the world. Amongst the collection will be the highly anticipated Muhatma Gandhi pocket watch, along with his glasses, sandals, bowl, plate and letters of authenticity. Candhi gave his beloved grandniece Abha Gandhi this pocket watch as she was his assistant for six years, and he was tragically assassinated and died in her very arms. This watch is estimated to command between $30,000 to $50,000 in auction, but come on after all it is Gandhi for God Sakes, I expect it will get much more.
First time for everything - Chopper ride in Manhattan
First post - Im going in.....Hunting is one of the few modern wildlife population control methods that works. The vast majority of natural predators are gone. Man is the only predator who, in many parts of America, still takes wild game to eat. In harvesting wild game, the hunter contributes to the continuation of free wildlife in many ways. First, the hunter does a great service in holding down the numbers of wild game, which otherwise would explode in numbers and as we know from studying history, would experience a great, tragic die-off because of over population problems. The die-offs caused by over population create far more suffering in the animal world then does quick death resulting from fair chase hunting. Secondly, hunting promotes the continued existence of wildlife through taxes and stamps that must be purchased by the hunter, and through the sale of firearms, ammo and all accessories attached to hunting. The natural resouce taxes collected through all of these sales go toward maintaining habitat and other expenditures connected to wildlife management.
This was last weekend in Southern Alberta. Enjoy
